Bill
Texido hails from West Seneca, NY. First starting with drums Bill
switched gears and started piano lessons with Ron Eschner at age 9. By
age 13 he picked up the guitar and hasn’t put it down since. At age 14
Billy started his first band Phantsia with Jim Linzer & Robbie Takac
(of the Goo Goo Dolls). He has studied with two of Buffalo’s most renowned
teachers, Tony Genevese & Tony Scazzaro. To further pursue his studies
he relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1986. He attended the infamous
GIT (Guitar Institute of Technology) and graduated in 1988. After hanging
out on the LA scene until 1989 he relocated back to West Seneca.
Bill
has been gigging around the Western New York Area for 20 plus years. Besides
a 12 year run with The Lance Diamond Band, he has played with the likes
of Scratch & Sniff Blues Band, Private Stash and a host of other groups.
He is full time music teacher at The Queen of Heavens School in West Seneca
- teaching grades 1 – 8 and directs chorus & bell choir. Bill also
teaches private guitar lessons at U-Crest music and at his home studio.
Bill
Texido’s recording ventures have included contributions on the Lance Diamond
Christmas CD, Toys for Tots Benefit CD and various demos. He writes
and records his own material too.
Many
different artists have had an impact on Billy. Among the many, Jimmy Page,
Steve Howe, Buddy Guy, Pat Methaney, Robben Ford & Michael Hedges are
evident in his playing style. He has carved own his own unique sound with
these influences.
Bill
thrives on playing live. He is currently & has been the lead guitar
player in Bleeding Hearts since 2002. With his fresh style and great attitude
he has been a huge addition to the group - helping make the band one of
the hottest & most versatile trios in Western New York.
